There is great camaraderie within the members of Rogues Gallery Racing and this is compounded by the fact they can often be seen on Newmarket Gallops at an un-godly hour in all weather conditions. Regular gallop visits are arranged by our Commander in Chief Tony Elliot, and they always have an early start time.
Horse Racing on the course is very exciting but a visit to the gallops can be just as exciting for everyone, getting to see their horses close up, cantering or galloping under the control of experienced stable lads and lasses all under the watchful eye of our trainers. You have to be quick, or you miss them so sometimes binoculars are the order of the day and definitely cameras.
Watching the horses on the gallops can be a great guideline towards their progress of reaching the racecourses. It's a fast-moving morning on the gallops as Newmarket has a few venues that our trainers use so moving between them is a must to get the best view.
Speaking of trainers Rogues Gallery racing has some of the best in the business. James Owen, Jack Jones, Peter Chapple Hyam, Jess Quinlan and Alice Haynes at Newmarket. We also have David Loughnane, Ed Bethnal, David O' Meara and Karl Burke outside Newmarket. These trainers from time to time arrange gallop and stable visits. If you fancy a trip to France, we have two horses with Laura Vanska.
Gallop visits are an essential part of owning a racehorse and nobody does it better than Rogues Gallery Racing. It may be cold and wet sometimes but seeing your horses close up, a visit to the stables afterwards to speak with the people who look after your horses on a daily basis and listening to the expert opinions from our top-class trainers.
All this and then a hearty breakfast together to follow, what else is there!
