Living the Dream
By Ronnie Booth
If you're a member of Rogues gallery you will have a share of a racehorse, chances are you will have a share in a good few racehorses!! This means you will be at the forefront of horse racing and be constantly affected by the triumphs and disasters involved in the game along the way.
Us Rogues are hardy individuals and even if it is a drab winters afternoon or evening at such exotic places as Newcastle, Southwell or Wolverhampton we can be found in our winter jackets at these places. The horse's parade and photos and videos are sent to update the Rogues who can't attend but want to share the course experience.
Once the horses are in the starting stalls that's when the dream starts, will this one be the superstar we're waiting for again? or will it be back to the drawing board! The emotions in the race go from hope to euphoria and back again. After that couple of minutes, its either into the winner's enclosure to greet our horse, more photos and videos to send to the exiled Rogues and if we are lucky a trophy presentation and a trip to the winning connections lounge for some well-deserved bubbles.
A few days later it all starts again.
We all dream of that superstar, that horse that can take us places, maybe next year as we have some potential superstars. I'm dreaming of not being so often in the cold at Newcastle, Kempton or Chelmsford quite so often but enjoying the luxury of balmy days and evenings at Ascot Heath or the sloping Downs of Goodwood and Epsom.
I've got my good clothes ready, have you?
