At The Stables
By Ronnie Booth.
There are many perks of having a share in a racehorse, there can be few more valuable than a visit to the stables to see your horses in their day to day environment.
Alice Haynes is one of the countries top racehorse trainers and her stables are located in the home of horse racing Newmarket. Alice trains three of the Rogues Gallery horses at her Kremlin Cottage stables, Penelope Valentine three year old bay filly, Rogue Invader three year old bay colt and Rogue Romance a two year old bay filly.
Alice held an open morning recently and there was a great turnout of owners including a healthy contingent from Rogues Gallery Racing. There was a parade of a great selection of the horses under the trainers control including Rogue Invader and Rogue Romance. This parade gives the owners a close up view of there horses with Alice giving a commentary about the horse’s progress and future racing plans.
Following the parade there is a chance for all the owners to have a conversation with the trainer and also the stable staff who personally look after the horses on a day to day basis. This is a great opportunity to discover more about your horses and their little quirks! The owners are also free to look around the stables to see their horses in their individual stables. A look around the stable facilities is also a must do.
The stable visit is a truly important part of being an owner with a chance to speak with other owners and of course partake in the hospitality which normally includes a glass of something and some food nibbles.
A great morning out for the Rogues attending the stables and leaving with the knowledge that their horses are in good hands and looking forward to seeing them on the race course soon.
